It’s been a roller-coaster season for the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams are reeling from losses to division rivals, but the Packers have the edge in wins at 5-2 to the 49ers’ 4-4 record. 888sport has the Packers at -3.5 road favourites (1.91)

Who are the Packers?
What in the world is going on with the Green Bay Packers? Sure, they’re still at the top of their division at 5-2, but they just lost to the Minnesota Vikings at home. They entered that game as -7.5 favourites and outright lost 28-22.
I can forgive their Week 6 loss to Tampa Bay, however humiliating it was, because the Buccaneers are a good football team, and the Packers were due for a bad game at that point. The loss to the Vikings though is puzzling. It highlighted some serious flaws that the Packers should address before they concede more losses to sub-par teams.
They let Vikings RB Dalvin Cook do anything he wanted to their defensive line, as he rushed for 163 yards and FOUR touchdowns. They have serious problems with their run defense and need to reinforce it as soon as possible.
Luckily for the Packers though, the 49ers don’t have RB Raheem Mostert healthy, who would otherwise, in all likelihood, annihilate the Packer’s defensive line Dalvin Cook-style. The 49ers have been one of the most unfortunate teams in the NFL this season in terms of injuries.
TE George Kittle has missed several games already and is projected to miss another 6 weeks after re-injuring himself in Week 8. Jimmy Garoppolo is out for this weekend’s game also, so the 49ers will be lacking on the offensive side.
Yes, the Packer’s defense is not good, but should we really bet on the depleted 49ers to beat them this week?
I fully expect the Packers to take advantage of San Francisco’s injury-riddled squad, and I’m banking on them to cover the spread on the road. This is a prime spot for them to bounce back, so if they don’t, their problems might be even more serious than we think.
