We’ve yet to have a perfect week with our parlays, but we will close out the NFL season on a high note. The Steelers and Browns will face off in a low-scoring game, while the Cowboys and the Colts will cover the point spread against the Giants and Jaguars, respectively. Let’s go!
NFL Best Parlays of Week 17
NFL Week 17
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns (-10) (-108)
January 3rd, 1:00pm, FirstEnergy Stadium
The Cleveland Browns dropped a crucial game last week to the New York Jets (I know, right?) and put a damper on their playoff hopes. There’s a lot of possibilities that would see them through, but they’re pretty much in a must-win situation.
Luckily for the Browns, they’re facing a Pittsburgh Steelers team, which will most likely be sitting their starters. The Steelers have a chance to end up as the number two seed in the AFC, but they won’t risk injuring their starters for it. The Steelers are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games, while the Browns have performed well at home, going 9-3 SU in their previous 12 games.
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Pittsburgh’s last six games, so I don’t expect a high-scoring game to unfold. The Browns will win, but we’ll see limited points on the board.
Pick: Under 42 Total Points (-109) (888Sport)
Dallas Cowboys (-1.5) (-112) @ New York Giants
January 3rd, 1:00pm, MetLife Stadium
It never ceases to amaze me that so late in the season, the NFC East’s awful teams have a chance at making the playoffs.
The Dallas Cowboys will travel to New York to take on the Giants on their home turf. They are in a must-win situation this week if they hope to make the playoffs, but they also need the Washington Football Team to lose to the eliminated Philadelphia Eagles.
Sadly, it looks possible. The Eagles look rejuvenated with Jalen Hurts at quarterback, and the New York Giants look terrible. They’re coming off a loss and have nothing to play for, so the Dallas Cowboys shouldn’t have a difficult time at beating them.
The Giants are 1-4 ATS in their last five games, while the Cowboys have gone 5-2 ATS in their previous seven. It sucks, but I’m going to roll with the Cowboys to cover the spread.
Pick: Dallas Cowboys To Cover Point Spread -1.5 (-112) (888sport)
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts
January 3rd, 4:25pm, Lucas Oil Stadium
The Jacksonville Jaguars secured the number one pick in the 2021 draft after losing in Week 16. To close out a forgettable year, the Jags will travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts, who need a win to secure a spot in the playoffs.
A disclaimer before I proceed: I do NOT feel comfortable ever taking a team to cover a large point spread.
However, given the circumstances, I have a feeling that the Colts will absolutely demolish the Jaguars. They’re at home, need to win, and the Jaguars are officially the worst football team (yup, worse than the Jets, apparently). The Jaguars are 0-8 in their last eight games on the road and 1-6 SU when playing on the road against Indianapolis.
They don’t stand a chance, so I’ll back the Colts to cover the ridiculous point spread at home.
Pick: Indianapolis Colts to Cover Point Spread -14 (-109) (888sport)
I’m going perfect on my parlays to close out the NFL season. The Cowboys and the Colts will cover their respective point spreads, as both teams will face terrible competition and are in must-win scenarios. I also got the Brows and Steelers being a dull, tight, defense-oriented game. We’re going three for three in Week 17!
