The Philadelphia Eagles are fortunate to be playing in the worst division in football, but that won’t do them any good this weekend when they face the 7-3 Seattle Seahawks. Carson Wentz has been bad, but if he can avoid costly turnovers, the Eagles may stand a chance against Seattle’s awful secondary. 888sport has the Seahawks as -5.0 road favourites (-110).

Do the Eagles have a chance?
I love football, but watching any game featuring an NFC EAST team can be downright grueling, especially if they’re playing against each other. Luckily, this weekend the Eagles will host the Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
The last time we saw the Seahawks go cross-country, it was to face the Buffalo Bills who ended up beating them 44-34. However, that was in an early game and the Bills are a good team, unlike the Eagles. All signs are pointing to a Seattle Seahawks victory, but it’s important to note that both teams are pretty banged up, so it isn’t totally ludicrous to like the Eagles at home in a potential upset.
The Seahawks have one of the most unbalanced defensive units in the NFL, as they rank fourth in rushing defense allowing just 91.2 yards per game. Their passing defense, on the other hand, is one of the worst, as they’re allowing a whopping 343.7.
The strong run defense will almost certainly force Wentz to throw the ball more, which bodes well for the Seahawks since Wentz is playing terribly. He’s completing just 58.3% of his passes and has thrown just as many touchdowns (14) as interceptions.
Seattle’s terrible secondary and the poor play of Wentz should cancel each other out in theory, but I just can’t bring myself to count on Wentz even avoiding turnovers at this point.
It’s a bit of a tricky game for bettors, but we can be sure that Seattle will light up the scoreboard no matter what, so I like the Seahawks to put up more than 27.5 points (888sport +100).
