The Rams are reeling after inexplicably losing to the New York Jets in Week 15. They’re clinging onto their playoff hopes but may end up sitting out this year if they’re unable to beat their bitter rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, here in Week 16. 888sport has the Seahawks as -1.5 home (-110) favourites.

Do or die for the Rams
Okay, so before we get on with the preview, I want to point out that back in Week 14, the Seattle Seahawks annihilated the winless New York Jets 40-3. The following week (last week), the Los Angeles Rams lost to Jets 23-20, and are now the figure of ridicule in the NFL world.
For the Rams to lose to such an inept team at this point in this season is inexcusable. Going into this game, the Rams had the number overall ranked defense, while the Jets had the worst offense in the league.
The Rams have too much talent for things like this to happen, and the Seattle Seahawks are not the Jets. The Seahawks have one of the most explosive offenses in the league and may capitalize on a demoralized Rams team in Week 16.
Los Angeles will also be without its leading rusher, Cam Akers, due to an injury he suffered last week, which isn’t good considering that the Seahawks run defense is currently ranked third overall, allowing just 94.6 rushing yards per game.
Although both teams have good offenses, the UNDER has cashed in six of the last ten meetings between them. The total has also gone UNDER in 6 of Seattle’s last six games, and although the Rams own the record in head-to-head matchups at 7-3 SU, they’re 3-12 in their previous 15 games on the road against Seattle.
Against most other teams, I’d bet on the Seahawks scoring boatloads of points, but this is a bitter rivalry, and with a lot on the line, I expect it to be more defensive than anything else.
Stats
- Seattle is 4-1 SU in their last 5 games
- The UNDER has cashed in 6 of Seattle’s last 6 games
- The UNDER has cashed in 6 of Los Angeles’ last 9 games against an NFC West opponent
- The UNDER has cashed in 9 of Los Angeles’ last 11 games
