The Pittsburgh Steelers remain undefeated while the Washington Football Team is fighting for a playoff berth in the lowly NFC East. Pittsburgh is taking care of business, but Washington’s defense has flown under the radar this season. Will this be the week their hot streak comes to an end? 888sport has the Steelers as -8.5 road favourites (110).

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Washington Football Team, NFL, Heinz Field
End of the line, Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers remain the NFL’s only undefeated team in 2020 so far. Coming off their second win over Baltimore this season, the 12-0 Pittsburgh Steelers head into their Week 13 game against the Washington Football Team as -8.5 road favorites.
Baltimore was able to force Big Ben to throw an interception last week and limited him to just 266 yards through the air. Washington ranks second (behind Pittsburgh) in sack rate percentage at 9.5. Washington may be able to take advantage of an aging Big Ben and bring the pressure if they’re able to push past his offensive line, which is no easy feat as it’s one of the best lines in the league, but totally possible for Washington’s pass rush.
Washington has an inferior offense, one of the primary reasons for their 4-7 record. They’re averaging just 21.9 points per game. Although Antonio Gibson and Terry McLaurin have been balling out recently, they may struggle even to hit that mark against a stout Steelers defense. Still, Washington has done well ATS this season, going 4-2 in their last six games.
This is one of the gutsiest predictions I’ll ever make, but my sixth sense tells me that Washington will upset the black and yellow gang this weekend. It sounds ludicrous, but Pittsburgh HAS to lose sometime, right? It’s a longshot when you consider how poor Washington’s offense is and the fact that Pittsburgh is at home, but 888sport offers fantastic value on the Moneyline for Washington at +325.
It’s risky, but the potential reward is enough to make me entertain it. If Washington brings the same defense we’ve grown accustomed to seeing this season, it’s totally within the realm of possibility for them to finally be the ones to take out the Steelers in Week 13.
I may end up looking like the biggest fool ever or a complete genius, but like Matt Damon’s character in Rounders says, “you can’t lose what you don’t put on the table, but you can’t win much either.”
